District 9, located in Johannesburg, South Africa, has undergone an attempted containment by the Multi-National United (MNU) of the “Non-Humans.” Although the vast majority of humans are unwelcoming to the extraterrestrial race, the MNU has insisted on keeping the alien outsiders barricaded in the slum-like territory of D-9. Here, in the depths of the district, the Non-Humans have been forced to perform suspicious labor tasks, while having to live like refugees.
Due to the fact that the MNU has closely monitored all human contact with the Non-Humans, little knowledge is known by the outside world about these aliens. This will all change on August 14th when District 9, the sci-fi film produced by Peter Jackson (LOTR) and directed by up-and-coming director Neill Blomkamp, will invade theaters.
