E.T.A by Junk Works …coffee break!

E.T.A. is now just one of several collaboration projects by Junk Works. It is an animated short that you might just assume is made by Pixar if you did not know any different. This short film gives you a 4 and a half minute glimpse at what should be a just-like-any-other boring, lonely day for Marvin a spacecraft operator … but watch out because today he isn’t alone!

From the conception of E.T.A. by Trenox (Anderson) until its debut at the BreakPoint ‘08 animation competition in Bingen, Germany under the direction of HEiNRiCH (Clausen), it took nearly four years to complete. Four hectic years for the Junk Team, bombarded by projects, school, work and numerous other setbacks. But ultimately, the group was able to finish up the animation and mastered audio two days prior to leaving for BreakPoint where they went on to win 1st prize.

In reflection Junk Works stated on their site, there are “a lot of things which could/should have been done differently, but then again that’s part of the process; learning from our mistakes and forever trying to improve our skills. In any case, we have finally finished our first animated short film – which turned out to be the third. So here’s to the next life-sucking production of 3-4 years… (or less).” AND WE LOOK FORWARD TO IT! Here’s the film…
