Calling all wordsmiths and doodilist! A month long, interactive project by Ivan Cash, artist, designer, and art director, has come to a abrupt halt five days after it went under way. The completely free of charge email to handwritten mail service allows one to “type a message to a friend, family member, pet, politician, or lover…” anywhere in the world. The only stipulation is that the note be less than 100 words and only request one custom option including a doodle, lip stick kiss, art medium or your own suggestion (SnailMailMyEmail).
Due to viral publicity, Cash has been receiving 800+ emails per day, leading him to predict that the project will cost an upwards of $100,000. However, Cash is not calling it quits and instead is kindly asking for your assistance to help him complete this endeavor which is slated to end on August 15th (Volunteer PDF).
You can help by either becoming a volunteer snail mail writer or support to cause by donating. Unfortunately, if you volunteer it will require your out of pocket change, but you will receive a thank you credit on the snailmailmyemail website, as well as in any book (if one is ever published).
